::Dhool is over.

12:51 a.m. - 2007-02-26

Dhool is over folks. And NUS VIDIYAL has reigned champion. Thank you to everyone who has helped us vote a million times and have taken time off to come visit us at AS7.

For those of you who believe we won through underhand means, i assure you the competition was just as tough for us as for others. We do admit that it was a tough fight and we put in our best fight and we're glad we came in tops.

Kudos to the other awesome groups out there. Before you guys start insisting that there has been bias, i'd just like you to watch us again, with zero expectations. Don't forget that we are 8 students dancing together, not a team that has been together for years.

We've displayed an array of dance styles and i think that for amateurs we have come a very long way.

As with any success, there often are detractors. But, i'd much appreciate if these detractors kept their opinions off my tagboard. Its silly and childish to be fighting over something that has already been decided.

If you think that NUS VIDIYAL is arrogant and cocky, please do come backstage next time or at least judge us once you've spoken to us.

The tag of NUS to our names has been more a bane than a boon to those of you who think that was the reason we won. Its not easy maintaining integrity and keeping up to expectations as a School team especially when you're up against open category dancers.

Nevertheless, its been one heck of a journey and i'm glad things came this far. Its a good feeling. I've learnt so much from working on Dhool, having gone from dancing typical choreography to bothering to venture further and attempt things i'd never have thought possible.

To the other dance groups, it was a great pleasure to have been up against you. Especially since we've never ever been up against professional dance groups before. It was nice talking with all of you backstage.

Respect to Tridiac - officially my favorite dance group. The way they stick to their principles of bringing you the best of Hiphop. It was wonderful to meet such humble folks who actually dance to enjoy and be passionate about their dancing rather than just being motivated by competition, which even we are guilty of doing at times.

Diversity gets my vote of confidence too, with their ability to constantly do something different and yet maintaining their style,attitude,grace and grrrrl power.

For now, NUS VIDIYAL shall go back to oblivion, just like how we appeared. Thank you for the love,the hate,the support,the criticism because we're just glad you watched us.

And really, lets just stop with the Dhool talk. Its taken up 4 months of my life already, its time to pick up the books and the rest of my life!
